Sharda Family entered the steel business during the 1940's and commenced trading activities at Kolkata, was the Industrial Capital of India. During the 1960's the Family diversified its activities into manufacturing by setting-up one of the largest Steel Re-rolling Mill in the Private Sector in Central India. Thereafter, the family has ventured into various aspects of steel making. Current manufacturing facilities include – Iron Ore Pellets, coal based DRI, Ferro Alloys, Steel Billets, Power Generation, TMT bars, specialized structural steel, spring steel plate, leaf springs etc. The manufacturing facilities are based at Raipur and Nagpur, in Central India.

SMPL started it's activities in 1994 and in last 2 decades, it has created a strong base in the domestic as well as international markets in the metallurgical field.

We are a multi-dimensional organization having a two-pronged focus :

• Intermediate trade of row material (Iron ore, Manganese ore, iron pellets, steel scrap DRI, coal, met coke, Anthracitecoal, ferro alloys, etc.) for Iron & steel industries
• Intermediate & Finished and Products (Pig Iron, Billets, Slabs, Construction Bars , Wire Rods, Plates, HRC, CRC, CRGO, GI and PPGI, etc.)
• Supply of Technology and Equipment on EP/ EPC basis to the Metallurgical and Infrastructure Industries. SMPL has expertise in association with the renowned Design & Engineering companies both in India as well as overseas in offering Design & Engineering Technology, Equipment for the Iron and Steel, Cement and Coal Mining Industries

The annual business volume of the Company has been over US$ 1,100 Million. The Company is in business with some of the largest Corporate Houses in India as well as some of the most reputed business conglomerates in the overseas markets.

The company is headquartered in New Delhi, India and has pan India presence in most of the major cities including Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Vishakhapatnam, etc. SHABRO has extensive overseas presence Houston Bangkok (Thailand), Durban (South Africa), Shanghai (China), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Manila (Philippines).
